Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte said that the government will not ratify the Association Agreement between the European Union and Ukraine , taking into account the results of April referendum , reports the BBC. 

"I think that eventually we will not ratify the agreement ," said Rutte.  In accordance with the EU rules, the agreement before entering into force must be ratified by the governments of all the member states . Rutte expressed a hope that Ukraine will be able to continue the negotiations with 27 member countries of the European Union .

In April the residents of the Netherlands voted against the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU, with 61 % of citizens against and 38.2 % for the agreement. The voter turnout made 32 % against the background of the necessary 30 % .
