YEREVAN. - The rumors on that the mayor candidate of Gyumri Samvel Balasanyan is bribing voters are unfounded.

Vice President of the National Assembly (NA) Hermine Naghdalyan, who is also an MP of the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA), said the aforementioned on Tuesday, citing the statement issued by the headquarters of Balasanyan.

According to her, in the statement Balasanyan’s  headquarters refuted the unfounded rumors circulating in some media outlets regarding bribing voters and other unacceptable violations.  “I would personally like to stress that we absolutely don’t need to win the elections by such illegal ways,” Naghdalyan said.

On October 2, the city council elections will for the first time be held by proportional lists in Armenia’s Gyumri and Vanadzor cities. The winning political forces will be able to appoint mayors.
