YEREVAN. – Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan received a delegation led  by Hossein Samiei, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Mission Chief for Armenia.

The interlocutors discussed bilateral cooperation, and the current economic situation in Armenia, Press Office of the Government informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.

They also conferred on the forthcoming amendments to the Tax Code, improvement of the business climate, attracting investment, as well as fiscal and monetary policy.

Karapetyan and Samiei stressed the importance of continued implementation of steps and programs aimed at improving the business climate and infrastructure in Armenia.

Regarding the 2017 State Budget draft, Prime Minister Karapetyan stressed that the government will introduce a realistic budget.

From the viewpoint of effective functioning of government, the PM highlighted the need to ensure proper control and increased predictability.

The parties also reflected on several other matters of mutual interest.
