YEREVAN. - Voters were distributed money during the local self-government elections in Armenia, this being done also by the parties 'working' as opposition.

Secretary of the Armenian National Congress (ANC), Aram Manukyan, stated the aforementioned in the parliament on Monday at the debate on the draft amendments to the Electoral Code.

''Through their government the authorities have brought the country to the point when many people are merely unable to refuse money. In same Vanadzor and Gyurmi I saw families, which have been living in shacks for 28 years. Some of them lack basic amenities, while others have 10-12 children.

The authorities do their best to convince these people - and not only them - that they will check who they will vote for. And people succumb to this admonition. Thus, it is no wonder that the opposition members of the City Council in Vanadzor also succumbed to this and voted for the authorities.

Another thing is also apparent: the parties 'working' as opposition scatter protesting electorate. That is apparent,'' Manukyan noted.
