YEREVAN. – The Prime Minister of Armenia, Karen Karapetyan, on Tuesday received French Ambassador Jean-François Charpentier.

The Premier noted that Armenian-French relations enjoy a unique friendly nature, Press Office of the Government of Armenia informed Armenian News-NEWS.am. Karapetyan expressed satisfaction with the rich, multifaceted agenda of bilateral relations, and underscored the implementation of joint economic programs.

The PM stressed that there is great potential for economic cooperation, and, in the implementation of this potential, he highlighted especially the French Development Agency’s (AFD) activities in Armenia. The PM added that the Armenia-France interregional ties are also expanding.

Ambassador Charpentier, for his part, noted that he stands ready to collaborate closely with the Government of Armenia toward further expansion of ties between the two countries. The diplomat stressed that the AFD will continue its investments in infrastructure improvements in Armenia, and is going to carry out projects worth about US$40 million. He also highlighted that several French companies are interested in conducting business in Armenia. 

The interlocutors considered the implementation of investment projects in various sectors of the economy to be full of prospect.
