The United Nations Special Envoy for Yemen Ismaïl Ould Cheikh Ahmed announced that the parties intend to restore ceasefire in Yemen in April on the terms agreed. 72-hour ceasefire will enter into force on October 19, a minute before the midnight. Ismaïl Ould Cheikh Ahmed stressed that the ceasefire will save the Yemeni people from further bloodshed and allow to intensify provision of the humanitarian aid to those in need. He urged all the parties of Yemen to respect the ceasefire and reminded, that it is expected to be held to ensure access of the humanitarian aid for the population.
