YEREVAN. – The Minister of Agriculture of Armenia, Ignati Arakelyan, on Wednesday received Lebanese Ambassador Jean Makaron.

First, the ambassador congratulated Arakelyan for being appointed Minister of Agriculture, and wished him productive work, the Ministry of Agriculture informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.

“I am aware that close relations are formed between Armenia and Lebanon in the agriculture sector,” noted the minister. “The embassy of Lebanon is taking initiatives aimed at the development of the agriculture sector of our country.

“I would like to stress that we stand ready to collaborate with the Lebanese side.”

Ambassador Makaron, for his part, briefly presented the Lebanese businessmen’s investments in the agriculture sector of Armenia. He also informed that Lebanese businessmen are very interested in investing in Armenia’s agriculture.
