YEREVAN. – As of today, the key question is where the Islamic State militants will go, if Mosul—in northern Iraq—is liberated.

Political scientist and former deputy foreign minister of Armenia, Ambassador Arman Navasardyan, told the abovementioned to Armenian News-NEWS.am.

He stated that even though Turkey wanted very much to have the most active participation in the military operations there, Iraq was against it.

“And why did Turkey want so much to enter there?” asked Navasardyan, and responded: “Because a Turk remains a Turk. It’s very difficult to remove him from where he sets foot on.

“Nonetheless, the key question is where the Islamic State militants will go, if they are driven out of Mosul; they can go to anywhere.”

The Armenian diplomat added that the Americans are conducting a risky policy, but expressed the hope that the situation will be resolved after the elections.
