The relations between Russia and Turkey, which were disturbed after the downing of Russia Su-24 jet, have not yet returned to the pre-crisis level, ‘the process still being underway,’ spokeswoman for the Russian MFA Maria Zakahrova said Thursday, RIA Novosti reports.

“I think this is a process [of reconciliation]. It is still underway. Of course, it cannot be said to have finished,” the diplomat said at a briefing.

“After top level meetings, a number of documents, including economic ones, were signed, which must contribute to the reconciliation. You understand very well that time should pass from the moment of signing till their direct implementation. This example shows that this process is still underway,” she explained.

Referring to the situation in Syria, Zakhaorva noted that “we have indeed resumed contact with the Turkish colleagues and exchange of opinions is underway.”
