At least 21 people were killed and three others were rescued after a MI-8 helicopter crash in Russian Siberia's Yamal Peninsula due to poor weather conditions, Xinhua reported.

As TASS reported quoting Russian Emergencies Ministry, 19 people were killed and three more were injured in the Mi-8 helicopter's crash landing. The first known survivor was evacuated via a helicopter and hospitalized in a serious condition. Two more people were later found on the site and evacuated.

The press service of Russia’s Rosneft oil company said that the helicopter transported employees of a contractor company from the Suzunsky oil deposit to Novy Urengoy.
