NATO appoints Arndt Freytag von Loringhoven, the former deputy head of the German intelligence, as the first intelligence chief in the history of the NATO, reports the Wall Street Journal.  His responsibilities include the improvement of intelligence information delivery concerning the increasing Russian military armaments. Loringhoven will also oversee the military and civilian intelligence of the alliance. Washington D.C. wanted this post be occupied by an American, though the Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg’s current assistants are citizens of the United States, writes the Wall Street Journal.
