Increasing NATO’s presence in the Eastern Europe and deploying four battalions in these countries is "a clear signal to Russia," said the German Defense Minister Ursula von der Leyen during the meeting of NATO’s defense ministers in Brussels, reports the DW. The NATO's decision to send troops to Poland and the Baltic countries has been made for defense purposes, said von der Leyen, at the same time reminding that an attack on any of the NATO member states will be viewed as an attack on all the NATO 28 states. The deployment of NATO’s four battalions in Poland and the Baltic states is planned on February of 2017, whereas the complete organization of battalions will be done in next few months.
