Armenia has made significant progress, and doing business has become easier in the country, World Bank representative Valentina Saltane told the Voice of America Armenian service.

She noted this commenting on the Doing Business 2017 report, where Armenia has improved its respective position by five points, as compared to the year past.

In Saltane’s words, the most significant “doing business” progress of Armenia has been recorded in further facilitating the procedures for the registration of new enterprises and the providing of loans.

As per the WB expert, however, there is still a need for major improvements in the procedures for obtaining building permits, installing electricity, carrying out contract requirements, and regulating insolvency.

But Valentina Saltane added that the Armenian authorities need to make use of this current progress and continue the reforms.
