Armenian cemetery found out by the Union of Armenian Architects and Engineers in Zara region of Turkey’s Sivas (Sebastia) province has been restored and improved.

According to Istanbul-based Armenian newspaper Agos, the work on restoration and improvement of the Armenian cemetery was carried out thanks to the sponsorship of entrepreneur and Zara region resident Fethi Aras.

The opening ceremony of the cemetery, which is to be headed by Fr. Zohrab Jivanian, will take place Saturday.

Before 1915, Zara used to be a densely Armenian-populated region.
