Certain provisions of Serzh Sargsyan’s speech delivered at the event dedicated to 20th anniversary of Republican Party, pleasantly surprised the head of Heritage parliamentary group Stepan Safaryan.

“I have an impression that Armenian President speaks of relations with the EU just when the Russian leader does. I think that Serzh Sargsyan just makes situational statements,” he said, recalling that difference between Armenian and European ways of thinking had been stressed so far. “Now it seems that we adhere to the European values in doing everything, starting from shop-windows and up to rule of law state,” Safaryan emphasized, stressing that this approach is similar to Heritage party’s position. “In the near future we will see how ruling coalition, and the Republican party in particular, will advance together with Heritage,” he resumed.

Speaking at the event Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan strongly criticized negative developments in political and economic life of the country.
