The RA Administrative Court has entertained an action brought against the RA Ministry of Nature Protection by the “For environmental safety and democratic development” NGO. Ecolur reports that the NGO accuses the ministry of failing to take measures to prevent contamination of the Vokhchi River.

The claim is based on the data reported by the Environmental Impact Monitoring Center, RA Ministry of Nature Protection, ArmWaterSewerage agency, ministry’s reply to the NGO’s inquiry, etc..  “If the state environmental inspection had taken necessary measures, the Vokhchi River would not have turned into a mire because of industrial waste,” Artur Ghazaryan, legal advisor to the NGO, said.
