President of Lithuania Dalia Grybauskaite will visit Azerbaijan in May 2011, Lithuania’s Ambassador to Azerbaijan Kestutis Kudzmanas told APA agency.

According to him, the visit to Azerbaijan had been included into President’s annual schedule.

“President wants to get acquainted with Azerbaijan closely and is seeking ways to accelerate the progress in the negotiations on the resolution of Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. The visit will take place in May,” he said.

As NEWS.am reported previously, the newly appointed Lithuania’s Special Representative for Protracted Conflicts Giedrius Cekuolis will visit Armenia and Azerbaijan in late February.

As OSCE chairing state Lithuania is unlikely to provoke a revolution in settling any of the protracted conflicts, but it will do its best to get good results, Giedrius Cekuolis stated in December 2010.

The OSCE is an organization with progress measured in “millimeters”.  However, each millimeter is “as good as gold.” He said Lithuania is determined to follow this course and do its best.
