At the meeting of “Justice and Development” Party, Turkish Deputy Prime Minister Bulent Arinc touched upon the Armenian Genocide.

According to him, Armenians were full-fledged members of Turkish society and took seats in the parliament of Ottomn Turkey. “However, during the World War I, Armenians took arms and we were forced to deport them. It has been 90 years we have been accused of killings of 2m Armenians because of these events,” Turkish Zaman daily quotes Arinc.

The Deputy Premier stressed they are not descendants of Turks, having committed a genocide.  “We did not perpetrate genocide like other countries. It would be better for those speaking of genocide to cite an example of Bosnia,” he said.
