Turkey’s intention to build mosques in the territory of Georgia is unacceptable, Georgian political expert Paata Zakareishvili told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

Commenting on Georgian Patriarchate’s negative attitude to the project of reconstruction mosques and churches in Turkey and Georgia, the expert noted Patriarchate is not a state institution and countries’ leadership should tackle such problems.

The expert said there is no tension but one can expect everything from the Georgian government.

The Turkish and Georgian governmental commissions formed a protocol according to which Turkey plans to renovate three and build one mosque in Georgia, whereas the Georgian side gets an opportunity to restore 4 ancient churches in the territory of Turkey.
