Two years have passed since the last congress of the Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP). This period has seen active party construction, and the PAP may state it has a high rating now, PAP Chairman Gagik Tsarukyan stated at the party’s 5th congress Feb. 12.
He stressed that Armenian political parties must consolidate, reported the Armenian News-NEWS.am correspondent. “The Prosperous Armenia Party is one of the most powerful and consolidated political forces in Armenia. We are responsible for the ongoing processes. We are for a new political generation, as Armenian young people must feel confident in their homeland rather than seek success abroad,” said Tsarukyan.
The congress amended the PAP program. The PAP is committed to application of European standards in the Armenian economy. The party is for further development of relations with Russia, cooperation within the CIS in forming an integral economic and cultural space. The PAP is also for Armenia’s more active cooperation within the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO).
