Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan held a meeting with a delegation headed by U.S. Deputy Secretary of State James Steinberg. The U.S. delegation included Philip Gordon, U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs, and other officials.

The RA presidential press office informed Armenian News-NEWS.am that, welcoming the guests, the Armenian leader stressed the importance of regular meetings for strengthening bilateral relations and discussing issues of mutual interest.

Mr. James Steinberg pointed out that it is his third visit to Armenia since he joined the Obama Administration. He is happy his visit will contribute to Armenia-U.S. relations.

Mr. James Steinberg said that the Armenian President`s regular meetings with U.S. top-ranking officials are evidence of strong bilateral ties.

The sides exchanged views on regional security problems and the Nagorno-Karabakh peace process.
