On March 13, Armenian Parliament Speaker Hovik Abrahamyan paid a working visit to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Island.

The Armenian Speaker met with representatives of the Armenian community in London. Abrahamyan presented Armenia’s domestic political situation and foreign policy priorities, the press service of the Armenian National Assembly informed Armenian News-NEWS.am. He stressed Armenia is committed to his obligations within international agencies and the political team led by Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan displays will and adherence to principles. “Today Armenia is country, which is able to defended its independence and is a reliable partner in the international arena,” Abrahamyan noted. He pointed out European integration along with other Armenia’s foreign policy priorities. According to him, a new stage with signing of the association agreement with the EU has begun in this process.

The meeting also focused on issues on Karabkh conflict resolution within OSCE Minsk Group, Azerbaijan’s warlike statements, as well as Armenia’s readiness for normalization of relations with Turkey.

The Armenian delegation headed by Hovik Abrahamyan will meet with Speaker of the House of Commons John Simon Bercow, Lord Speaker in the House of Lords Baroness Helene Hayman and members of the British-Armenian parliamentary group.
