Both Armenia and Azerbaijan must remove snipers from the line of contact simultaneously, member of the opposition Armenian National Congress Vladimir Karapetyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

Commenting on a statement made by OSCE head Audronius Azubalis, former spokesperson for Armenian foreign office Karapetyan said he considers it normal.

“Although OSCE Chairperson-in-Office’s statement is a good wish, both sides should be called to remove snipers,” said the ANC member. He also stressed that in this context one should take into account numerous cases of ceasefire violation by the Azerbaijani side. Karapetyan also recalled that the same issue was raised by Azubalis during his meetings with Azerbaijani leadership in Baku.  

Earlier today Audronius Azubalis called on Armenia to remove unilaterally snipers from the line of contact as a gesture of goodwill.
