Turkish Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Taner Yildiz proposed to start closing process of the Armenian NPP amid recent claims intensified in Turkey.

The Minister could not stand “deeply offending” fact that Armenia has a source of nuclear energy, while Turkey does not. In this context Yildiz makes ridiculous assessment of the Armenian NPP.

Having no idea about seismic protection and NPP security, the Turkish minister, for some reason, decided that after the explosion at a Japanese nuclear power plant international organizations are pressurizing Armenia to close the NPP. Yildiz decided “to assist international institutions” and initiate closure of the nuclear power plant.

The Minister, who wants to close a nuclear power plant in a foreign country, considers it is a shortcoming that Turkey is not included in the list of 30 countries having source of nuclear energy. In this regard, the minister promised to build several nuclear power plants in Turkey, because no country in the world has refused to have nuclear energy so far. “We will build an ultra modern nuclear power plant,” he said.

A nuclear power plant in Turkey will be built by Russian experts. Meanwhile, Turkey refuses to recognize the fact that Russia also manages and runs the Armenian nuclear power plant.
