OSCE Minsk Group has traveled a long way and made great efforts to reconcile the parties to the Karabakh conflict. The MG CO-Chairs presented many proposals, a representative of the Armenian National Congress (ANC) Vladimir Karapetyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am, commenting on the Minsk Group’s activities.

According to Karapetyan, the Minsk Group’s greatest achievement was the signing of agreements on ceasefire regime and preventing incidents in 1994 and 1995. “However, the Minsk Group could pursue a more coherent policy in implementation of the provisions of these two documents,” Karapetyan noted.

“Unfortunately, Serzh Sargsyan has begun signing bilateral agreements without Nagorno-Karabakh’s participation since 2008, thus reinforcing Azerbaijan’s position, who insists that the conflict is between Azerbaijan and Armenia, not Azerbaijan and Nagorno-Karabakh. Yet I believe that it is not too late now to apply to these documents, which can serve as a basis for strengthening the ceasefire, as well as confidence building measures between the three parties to the conflict, Karapetyan emphasized.

On March 24, 1992 Minsk hosted an international conference on Nagorno-Karabakh.
