YEREVAN. – In the first quarter of 2011 7700 vehicles were imported to Armenia, reads the official report of the State Revenue Committee.

Compared to the first quarter of 2010, the number of imported vehicles increased 2.2 times.

2008 marked the quarterly record of vehicle import with 9500 vehicles imported in the first quarter, however, global economic crises resulted in drastic decrease of the import numbers that persisted both in 2009 and 2010.

According to the experts, the first quarter of 2011 showed the return of people’s purchasing tendency.

In 2010 a total number of 20 thousand cars were imported to Armenia.
