YEREVAN.- The railway accident in Georgia which happened on Saturday led to a slight deviation from timetable of the two passenger Yerevan-Batumi-Yerevan trains.

There were no freight trains of South Caucasus Railways (SCR) on the blocked section of the railway when the accident happened, SCR press service informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.  

The railway traffic in the region of Mtskheta, 20 km north of Georgia’s capital, has been completely restored in both directions, Georgia Online news agency reports referring to the Department for Emergency Situations.

Traffic was stopped due to accident which occurred on Saturday night when 12 cars went off the rails. Oil from two tanks spilled during the derailment but rescuers managed to prevent the fire.
