YEREVAN. – Public in Armenia and Karabakh is not ready to cede liberated territories of Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR), Giro Manoyan, head of central Hay Dat (Armenian Cause) office, member of ARF Dashnaktsutyun Giro Manoyan told a press conference in Yerevan on Tuesday.

“Though attempts are made to prepare the Armenian people, starting from weather forecast, in which the liberated territories are not pointed out, to official statements, yet it is unacceptable to the Armenian society. The public does not express its protest, as it does not believe in the swift resolution of the Karabakh conflict,” Manoyan emphasized.

Referring to the question on whether diplomatic vacuum in the Karabakh peace process may lead to resumption of hostilities, Manoyan said Azerbaijan will resume military operations only when it is confident of its victory. However, at the moment official Baku has no such confidence.

“Meanwhile, regular cease-fire violations may increase on the contact line, which is fraught with unpredictable consequences,” the ARFD member concluded.
