YEREVAN. – The fourth international symposium (triennially), devoted to the history of printing and publishing in the states and in the language of the Middle East will be held on September 27-29 in the Alexandria Library, Egypt. Armenia will also participate in it. 

Head of the Matenadaran Institute of ancient manuscripts after Mesrop Mashtots, Hrachya Tamrazyan, head of the Literature and Art Museum after Eghishe Charents, Karapet Vardanyan, and head of the department of conservation and development of Armenian fonts of National Book Chamber Edik Gabuzyan will participate in the international symposium.

These days administration of the Alexandria Library offered to host the exhibition of ancient Armenian books. It will be dedicated to the 500th anniversary of the first Armenian printed book. The exhibition will show pieces from the collections of the Literature and Art Museum after Charents and the Institute of ancient manuscripts after Mashtots.

UNESCO announced Yerevan the book capital of the world in 2012.
