YEREVAN. – The time has come for a long time that the opposition Armenian National Congress (ANC) stopped talking and took action, opposition Heritage Party MP Zaruhi Postanjyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am, in response to the question as to how ANC’s demands would affect the course of dialogue with the authorities.

“It is just necessary to take action because we have no time to talk, hold discourse, wait, and tolerate,” Postanjyan noted.

In reply to the query as to whether September could be the time for stopping all talk and taking action, Zaruhi Postanjyan said that “if each of us becomes aware that we should be organized and that task must become a reality,” it could happen.

ANC’s leader, Armenia’s First President Levon Ter-Petrosyan on Friday again voiced the opposition’s demands: holding early parliamentary and presidential elections; making radical reforms in the Electoral Code; and exposing the events of March 1, 2008, within the next 3 months, and punishing the guilty. Ter-Petrosyan also demanded that ANC activist Tigran Arakelyan be released and the criminal cases launched against 7 activists be dropped.
