YEREVAN. – The Armenian Government introduced the tax reform package, on Tuesday’s budget hearings at the National Assembly, but the MPs manifested an astonishing passiveness. Solely three MPs attended the joint session, two of them arrived late, and only one MP posed questions.

Also, the nearly twenty-minute debate between MP Artsvik Minasyan and vice chairman Armen Alaverdyan of the State Revenue Committee did not reveal the nature of the package, since the discussion primarily was about World Bank expert conclusions’ objectiveness and professional usefulness, in terms of assessing the shadow economy and taxation resources in Armenia.

The tax package is not made public, to date.
