Criminal case initiated on soldier’s death in Armenia

YEREVAN. - On the death of Armenian soldier Narek Davtyan the investigation service of Armenia’s Ministry of Defense opened a criminal case on Monday on forcing him to commit suicide. There are no arrests or suspects concerning the case, however the investigation is underway, the MOD public communications department senior officer Mary Sargsyan informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.

As Armenian News-NEWS.am informed earlier, serviceman Narek Davtyan’s corpse was discovered on December 3, at 12.55 a.m.

“The scene has been investigated, external inspection of the body has been completed, samples have been taken, forensic medical examination of the body is going to be done,” Mary Sargsyan added.

The incident took place in Vanadzor city military unit.
