YEREVAN. – Armenia’s main achievement for this year was securing steady development of the state, realizing aims and programs, ruling Republican Party MP Artak Zakaryan told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

“Regarding domestic political life in Armenia, it was a step forward,” the MP said adding the year was a perfect opportunity for preparation to the next year elections.

The MP, however, said that the year missed some issues as well. Despite steady progress in economy some projects were not realized in full.

Regarding the foreign policy, Zakaryan mentioned number of achievements, including steps to European integration, reflecting negotiations for the European Union Association Agreement, and establishment of free trade zone.

He also touched upon the normalization of the Armenian-Turkish relations.

“Turkey is the one to choose, either it continues to achieve its ambitions or takes a more constructive position,” he concluded.
