YEREVAN. – Demonstrated resources of gold in Armenia (measured + indicated, or A, B, and C1) are 198,854.65 kg (6,393 mln Troy ounces), head of the natural resources at the Armenian Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources Khachik Sapondjyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am correspondent. Inferred resources (C2) equal 210 752,12 kg. The total measured, indicated, and inferred resource is 409 606,77 kg, or 13,169 mln Oz.

Currently, 32 gold and gold-polymetallic projects are explored in Armenia. There are also 12 active mining licenses for gold and gold-polymetallic resources, though not all of them are utilized at present. The biggest deposit of gold in Armenia is Sotk (managed by Russian-owned GeoProMining Gold Ltd). Its reserves are about 120,000 kg.
