YEREVAN. – Cooperation with off-parliamentary opposition Armenian National Congress (ANC) leader Levon Ter-Petrosyan after 2008 presidential elections was impossible as a matter of fact, head of ruling coalition member Orinats Yerkir party Arthur Baghdasaryan said at a press conference on Wednesday.

According to him, possible cooperation was discussed after the elections.

“How can I cooperate with a person who insulted me during the election campaign and called ‘a traitor’?”  Baghdasaryan wonders.

Baghdasaryan stressed he does not need a tandem with Ter-Petrosyan to raise his rating.

“I was several percents behind Ter-Petrosyan during the elections [Ter-Petrosyan-21.5% and Baghdasarayan-17.7% officially-ed.]. Many political parties and media outlets supported him, whereas I was alone but later I took up the deserved office,” he stated.

To note, Baghdasaryan, just as Ter-Petrosyan, was a radical opposition during the 2008 election campaign. However, he sharply changed his position after post-election tragic processes and became a member of the ruling coalition.
