TBILISI. – Sale transaction of the Armenian famous poet Hovhannes Tumanyan’s house is scheduled for Feb. 22, head of the Armenian Writers’ Union Levon Ananyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am, who is currently in Georgia among the Armenian delegation.

According to Ananyan, the owner of the house Archil Lezhav evaluated the house for $145,000. We tried to find a home with the equal price to Tumanyan’s, but did not come into agreement. As Armenia has no right to purchase a property in a foreign state, the house should have purchased either an individual or an organization. The Government considered it reasonable that the Armenian Writers’ Union purchased it, while the Mayor of Armenian Gyumri City Vardan Ghukasyan will grant the money.

To note, the amount is paid for 122 sq. /m., which will become a property of the Armenian side.
