YEREVAN. - There is no alternative to democratic processes in Armenia, Deputy Speaker, member of the ruling Republican Party Eduard Sharmanov said in the parliament on Tuesday.

“Armenia is getting ready for parliamentary elections. It is clear that the Republic has made its decision and that decision is to deepen democratic processes. In this sense the statement of Armenia’s president and chairman of the ruling Republican Party Serzh Sargsyan is very important.

He calls on his party members and all the public to carry out system reforms. This call was based on work which had been approved by our European neighbors. It is not a coincidence that the president of the European People’s Party Martens declared that Europe is proud of the reforms conducted by RPA in Armenia,” Sharmazanov said.

Talking about foreign policy he mentioned that the development of Armenian-Turkish relations became important over the past weeks.

According to him, Turkey just does not want to understand that Karabakh is native Armenian land.

“As our president said ‘Artsakh was and will remain Armenian’. We shall achieve our aims as we believe in them. We shall trust in order to change,” Sharmazanov said repeating RPA’s motto.
