All the arrested members of Ergenekon S-1 group, which was created by the former deputy commander of Turkey’s special forces Ibrahim Sahin were released at different times by court decision.

In one of the chapters of the Eregenekon – 3 case presents materials on the actions of the S-1 group according to which the group consisting of 15 (7 police officers and 8 servicemen) was assigned to organize attacks at the Armenian Patriarch of Constantinople Mesrop Mutafyan, the leader of the Alawis Ali Bakiz and others.

The court decided to release all 15 members based on evidence presented during their arrest at different times.

According to documents which were found in the house of Ibrahim Sahin, the murder of the Armenian patriarch should have been preceded by 5 preparation stages.

In the first phase the victim’s visits to the patriarchy were to be investigated. At the 5th stage  the patriarch was to be shot down while coming out of the patriarchy.
