YEREVAN. – Turkey has canceled the charter flight from Istanbul to Yerevan, the capital city of the Republic of Armenia (RA), for Friday, April 24, Haykakan Zhamanak daily reported.

“The spokesperson of the RA government-affiliated General Department of Civil Aviation, Ruben Grdzelyan, told us about this.

“The representatives of several Turkish NGOs plan to come to Yerevan on April 24 [i.e. the day of the centenary of the Armenian Genocide] with a chartered flight from Istanbul, to pay tribute to the memory of the Armenian Genocide victims.

“It is believed that the Istanbul-Yerevan special flight is canceled after the hysteria raised in recent days in Turkey around the Armenian Genocide [issue],” Haykakan Zhamanak wrote.
