YEREVAN. – It turns out that Armenia’s bill on profit and income taxes, which caused a big fuss these days and which has been named the “taxing of migrant workers,” was not brought to the parliament floor out of the blue, Hraparak daily reported.

“There are specific arrangements and specific numbers under it, with close to 100 Russian Armenian organizations, (…) which will take construction manpower-organizations from here to Russia, [but] register their organizations in Armenia.

“First, they will have the opportunity to pay lower taxes, and then they will be able to raise the economy [of Armenia], which had ‘gone down’ during the tenure of [incumbent PM] Hovik Abrahamyan, [and] fill the emptied treasure-chest,” Hraparak wrote.
