Aravot: Young woman swindles in Armenia’s Ijevan

May 22, 2012

YEREVAN. – Armenia’s Ijevan City Police Precinct is gathering material against a nearly 30-year-old woman who was conning people in the city, Aravot daily writes.

“She swindled three in Ijevan and more than a dozen in Stepanavan [City]. In one case, she convinced an Ijevan resident that she can find truck tires for him at a price twice as cheaper than the market [value], and she took AMD 160,000 [approx. US$ 400] from the trusting citizen.

Ijevan Police received information from citizens with respect to the scams, and a criminal case will open soon.

The sources close to the Police have informed that the knavish woman is identified, [and] measures are taken to find her,” Aravot writes.
