YEREVAN. – “The new sculpture, which is placed in the garden of Cafesjian sculptures [in Armenia’s capital city Yerevan], apparently was not liked by the Yerevan residents, who complain and protest, furthermore, demand, for already several days, [and say] ‘take that naked woman out of there! All we needed was that immoral [person]!”,  daily writes.

“Fernando Botero’s monumental sculpture, The Smoking Woman, has appeared [at the aforesaid garden and] alongside the Colombian sculptor’s other works: The Cat, and The Roman Soldier. [The naked woman] Sits on her stomach, smokes without a care, has spread out unconcerned, and disparagingly looks upon the world. To be honest, she is right,” Hayots Ashkharh writes.
