YEREVAN. – In an interview with Aravot daily, and reflecting on the query as to whether the Prosperous Armenia Party, the opposition bloc Armenian National Congress, and the opposition ARF Dashnaktsutyun Party possess a potential to form a front against President Serzh Sargsyan after February’s presidential elections, analyst Ruben Mehrabyan noted:

“Perhaps they do possess a potential to form a front, but this possible front is stillborn in itself. This front cannot change power, but it could attempt to weaken the post-February authorities.

I hope that the authorities likewise are assessing, with a clear head, this layout of the forces and making the necessary conclusions so as not to allow the ‘known’ external ‘forces’ to be able to dictate to the authorities—[and] by blackmail—their imperialistic ‘Eurasian’ whims, which is equivalent to the actual death of our state,” Aravot quotes.
