“Were deductions made [from his salary]—as [NA Speaker] Hovik Abrahamyan had promised—for being absent from the inauguration of [President] Serzh Sargsyan, as it was the case for the other MPs?
“We posed these questions to Tsarukyan’s spokesperson Iveta Tonoyan.
‘Gagik Tsarukyan has never received his MP’s salary in person; these amounts are targeted at providing assistance,’ [she said]. And she found it ‘difficult’ to answer [the query] about the deductions.
“It is interesting that the NA salary is paid with the [bank] card system, and the important thing is that Tsarukyan does not decline from what he has not worked for,” Hraparak writes.
