YEREVAN. – Several people, who are actively involved in the civil initiatives of Armenia, have traveled to the Ukrainian capital of Kyiv, to get acquainted with the Ukrainian know-how on civil disobedience, Haykakan Zhamanak daily reports.

“We spoke with Suren Sahakyan, a member of the ‘We pay 100 drams [as public transport fare]’ citizens’ initiative, who likewise is in Kyiv,” the daily writes. And below is an excerpt from the interview.

“Is the situation in Maidan tense again?

“I would not say [that]. The people are standing in the square calmly, resolutely.

“Is there aggression by the demonstrators and the police?

“I have not seen aggression by the demonstrators, and to be honest, I saw very few police officers in Kyiv.

“Have you met with Armenians at Maidan?

“To be honest, no. But killed Armenian Serhiy Nigoyan’s pictures are on the Maidan walls. And there is also an Armenian, a boy by the name of Vardan—born in 1992—, among the missing protesters.

“Until when are you going to stay in Ukraine?

“Until victory!”
