The 60th Annual Meeting of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) will be held in Nagoya, Japan, The bank's representatives announced this on the final day of the 59th Annual Meeting in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, the Armenian News-NEWS.am correspondent reports.

The next annual meeting will be held from May 2-5, 2027.

ADB President Masato Kanda noted in his closing remarks that it is symbolic that the 60th meeting will be held in Japan, which is one of the founding members of the ADB and is still one of the bank's largest shareholders.

The 60th Annual Meeting of the ADB will not be just a celebration. It will be an important moment to look to the future, Kanda said, and added that he has high expectations that this important event will be a great success.

The 59th Annual Meeting of the ADB concluded with an event dedicated to the history and culture of Japan, which was also attended by the deputy minister of finance of Japan, the mayor of Nagoya, and several other officials.

The 59th Annual Meeting of the ADB was being held in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, from May 3-6, bringing together financial sector representatives, policymakers, independent experts, and journalists from 69 ADB member countries. Deputy Minister of Finance of Armenia Edgar Mkrtchyan also attended the event.

Within the framework of the event, the Asian Development Bank announced a number of new projects; one of them, for example, aims to assist countries in the Asia and Pacific region that are facing rising energy prices and accelerate the transition to more sustainable energy systems.
