Today is Europe Day, wrote President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy today, May 9, in his Telegram channel.

“And Ukraine celebrates it not formally and not just for show, but with a full understanding that we are already an inseparable part of the European family. We are defending Ukraine, our independence, our future, and in doing so, here in Ukraine, we are defending our Europe, of which Ukraine has been and will be a part.

From the first days of the full-scale war until today, Europe has stood by Ukraine. And this is not charity, but a conscious choice of Europeans — to be on the side of brave and strong people, with Ukrainians who are today fighting for peace and true security from tyranny not only for themselves, but for the entire continent.

And we will certainly defend our state, our people, and our right to choose our own future — a future in Europe,” the President of Ukraine noted.
