Arpine Soghoyan, a doctor who had quarreled with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during the parliamentary election campaign season, has been dismissed. This was informed by her daughter, Tatevik Soghoyan.

“You all asked what happened to the matter of my mother’s job after the ‘warm’ meeting with Pashinyan. Let me say: after 21 years of impeccable work at a Yerevan polyclinic, it was decided to dismiss my mother on the grounds of DOWNSIZING. That is, from now on, the [aforesaid] polyclinic will have a women’s consultation department, but it will not have a department head. Thousands of women from an entire administrative district, including future mothers, will be left without the supervision of an experienced department head.

Of course, the official explanation for all this, that we don’t have money, becomes even more ridiculous when you compare it to the billions of drams spent by the community on entertainment. Anyway, I'll reflect on them later. For now, let me just say that this dismissal on the grounds of downsizing is the best indicator of my mother's conscientious work, and another vivid proof of the ‘bastion of democracy’ that protects our free speech.
