Director of the Rescue Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Armenia, Aram Ghazaryan, recently received the Permanent Representative of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) in Georgia, Masahiro Ueki, and JICA Program Coordinator in Armenia, Ruzan Khozhikyan, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Armenia reported.
Aram Ghazaryan highlighted the effective cooperation with JICA, noting that the programs implemented with the support of the agency have made a significant contribution to the technical re-equipment of the Rescue Service of Armenia, the development of professional skills of the staff, and the improvement of the disaster risk management system.
In turn, Masahiro Ueki noted, with satisfaction, that the Armenian side highly appreciates Japan’s many years of experience in disaster risk management.
The technical replenishment of the Rescue Service of Armenia, the implementation of the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction, as well as several other matters of mutual interest were discussed.
Also, the parties reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthen the partnership and work together in targeted directions.
