The court has extended Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan's house arrest by two months. Earlier, the prosecution had filed a motion to extend his house arrest by three months. Also, the archbishop was allowed to attend a baptism ceremony at the church in Jrvezh village to be held on Saturday.

Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan, former Primate of the Tavush Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church, was in pretrial detention since June 2025. But on June 4 of this year, the appellate court of Armenia had commuted Galstanyan’s pretrial detention to house arrest.

According to the Investigative Committee of Armenia, participants in the Archbishop Galstanyan-led “Holy Struggle” movement had planned to carry out terrorist and power-seizing actions in Armenia.
